Day 1 - 25th September (Saturday)
5AM: Meet our trek leader and start journey from Rishikesh to Wan village in our private vehicle. Excitement builds up as we embark upon this beautiful road journey.
The road winds its way up and around the mountains with River Alaknanda flowing parallel to it throughout. On the way, we shall halt for breakfast and lunch and also witness the 3 prayags (holy confluence of tributary with Ganges). If time and situation permits, we will definitely hop out to take some pictures en route. Our aim is to reach Wan village by sunset. Introductions & Briefing about the trek over a sumptuous dinner in our guesthouse in Wan village followed by night stay.

Day 2 - 26th September (Sunday)
Today, after breakfast, we trek up from Wan village to Gehroli Patal situated at 10,000ft. During today’s trek we would be visiting Latu Devta temple to seek blessings for a safe trek. Latu Devta is the local deity who is believed to protect the area. The initial 3km trek is a gradual ascent to a place called ‘Ran ka Dhar’ followed by a short descent to river Neel Ganga. Hereon, a 6km steep trek takes us to our destination surrounded by Oak trees. The name Ranka Dhar (meaning Flowing Blood) comes from the battle Parvati had with the demon Lohasur. Their battle which started in Lohajung (1 hr drive from Wan), culminated here.

Day 3 -27th September (Monday)
Today is our acclimatization day. This day will help us prepare for the tougher challenges of high altitude and cold weather that we would be encountering in the following days. From Gehroli Patal, we leave the tree cover behind and venture on a route that ascends gradually to Aali-Bugyal. Bugyals are vast pastures or mountain meadows that lie at a high altitude. Trekkers are rewarded with a very great view of Mt. Mrigathani. Before evening sets in, we descend back to Gehroli Patal campsite where we have an overnight stay.

Day 4 - 28th September (Tuesday)
With renewed confidence, we start our trek to Aali Bugyal from where a gentle trail leads us further to Bedni Bugyal. These twin meadows are considered to be the largest in Asia and really very beautiful. The best part is we can see so many Himalayan peaks such as
Mt. Trishul, Mt. Nanda Ghunti, Mt. Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Mt. Bandarpuch, and Kedarkanth from Bedni Bugyal. The second half of today’s trek is an easy 4km trail to Pathar Nachauni. Pathar Nachauni as the name itself suggests is a windy campsite where even the rocks dance!

Day 5 - 29th September (Wednesday)
The real game starts now – Today’s trek will test your endurance, physical fitness and mental toughness. But as they say, when the going gets tough – the tough get going! Pathar Nachauni to Kalu Vinayak temple is a steep 3-km zig-zag trail followed by a gradually descending trail of 2kms to Bhagwabasa. The name Kalu Vinayak is derived from the black Ganesh idol enclosed in a stone shrine just as you finish the climb from Ghora Lotauni. Seek blessings from Lord Ganesh to keep you safe and sound in such a challenging terrain. Tonight we hit the sleeping bags really early so that we can have a timely start for our summit attempt tomorrow

Day 6 - 30th September (Thursday)
Today is a busy day for us! Our summit attempt will begin at around 4AM. It is a gradual ascent to Roopkund which should take us about 3hrs with the last 30mins consisting of steep slopes. If time permits we shall try to attempt Junargali which is further above the Lake. After a memorable summit, we descend to Bhagwabasa to have breakfast. Later we continue downhill to Pathar Nachauni where we set up our camp and have a hot lunch. Relax for the day – write about your adventures. Dinner and night stay.

Day 7 - 1st October (Friday)
After having a successful summit, we are in the last leg of the trek. Today’s trek would be a long but easy downhill trail from Pathar Nachauni to Wan Village via Bedni Bugyal. The only steep portion would be from Gehroli Patal to Neel Ganga river, which will be followed by a minor ascend to ‘Ranka Dhar’ and finally back to base village Wan. Feedback & debriefing session over dinner. Pack up our belongings for a road trip tomorrow.

Day 8 - 2nd October (Saturday)
Finally it’s time to bid adieu to the beautiful mountains. We start early morning journey from Wan to Rishikesh. On the way, we would halt at scenic spots and enjoy the beauty of Uttarakhand. Group Dinner at Rishikesh & Overnight stay in hostel dormitory.

Day 9 - 3rd October (Sunday)
After breakfast, the group splits for its return journey to respective cities.
